Further
Information:

EnerGuide rating for heating and cooling products shows the energy efficiency of the product (the higher the umber the better). The ENERGY STAR ® label are for those furnaces and heat pumps that exceed the minimum standard by 15 percent. In the long run, the most energy-efficient unit is the best bet. A furnace or heat pump should last between 10 to 20 years, and the savings will accumulate with time. Savings would be even more meaningful should fuel or electricity rates rise.

Developed by the Pembina
Institute, the One Less Tonne tool allows you to calculate typical greenhouse
gas emission reductions (and energy cost savings) associated with actions. The average Canadian household emits 13
tonnes of greenhouse gas annually. See
if you can reduce your emissions and increase your savings by making some
changes in your home.
