Project Summary

The objective of this ongoing project is to transform one of Regina’s largest industrial districts into a high performance eco-industrial park. Our team initially provided grant writing, stakeholder engagement & capacity building. We developed a resource baseline of the area in 2006 (water and energy consumption data and information on land use, ecological functions, transportation and economic information) that helped to characterize resource use across Ross business sectors. We completed a qualitative evaluation of input and output material flows for manufacturing facilities, and warehouses and distribution centres. A high level analysis allowed us to define 4 EIN opportunities to be pushed forward for implementation. In 2011, our outreach work resumed with business engagement programs to foster discussions, get feedback and increase business interest and involvement.
