I am looking for a small eco-density, sustainable building type of development in Vancouver being built or under development that is leasing or selling medium size units (1500 sq ft or more) for occupancy in the next year or more, and in which tenants or owners are able to develop their own floor plan layout from basically a shell which they buy or lease.

Introduction to Eco-Sense: Building Sustainably In Victoria.
Submitted by Gord Baird on Sun, 10/12/2006 - 04:25.The Eco-Sense project in Victoria is our house, and derived from the need to set an example to all people, governments, and builders/trades, that sustainable development is easily acheivable.
We are incorporating solar PV and wind into a grid-interie system, solar thermal collectors for our space and domestic hot water heating, rain water collection for both domestic and garden irrigation, composting toilet system, grey water irigation filtered through worm -bio-filter, passive solar design, organic food gardens all into a beautiful loadbearing natural cob home.
Sustainable Community Development and CED Course
Submitted by SBC on Tue, 10/10/2006 - 10:05.This is the next course in the Certificate Program for CED Professionals, Community Development and CED at Harbour Centre on October 27-28. The instructor is Sean Markey, an associate at the Centre for Sustainable Community Development who recently worked for a year in Coast Capital's CED Program. A portion of the course will be co-instructed by Mark Holland, a dynamic and experienced consultant in sustainable development. It will be a unique and excellent opportunity to explore the connection between economic development and sustainability.
