Torch-on is an asphalt-based product. For a fairly good background on asphalt, see the wikipedia entry. Also it may be worth looking at an overview of a study from Harvard University that explains why the approximately 500,000 asphalt workers in the United States today "have significantly increased risk of lung, stomach, bladder, and nonmelanoma skin cancer," and why this product is a suspected carcinogen.
