The Qube
The Qube is a distinctive downtown 180-unit residential building that MCMP Architects converted from the former West Coast Transmission corporate headquarters: a Vancouver landmark and a triumph of innovative engineering.
The Qube undertook many environmental strategies. By far the most significant is the revitalization of a building that has outlived its usefulness. This not only preserves the neighbourhood character but also prevents significant volumes of demolition waste from adding to the landfill. In Vancouver, construction and demolition waste comprises 35% of local landfills.
