Green Construction Training Program
You Are: A site superintendent, supervisor, project coordinator, site safety officer, manager of trades, or other interested person
This two-day course is designed for site superintendents, supervisors, site safety officers, and managers of the trades to gain the skills and knowledge needed to coordinate, supervise, and train crews on site. Learn to train your staff about green building basics for each job site in the familiar format of a safety orientation.
How can a Green Construction Site Coordinator help on a green building project?
A Green Construction Site Coordinator is a valuable addition to all green building projects as they ensure that the green site operations are managed safely and efficiently. They also train all trades as they arrive on site to ensure consistent communication of the green building project's goals and requirements.
This training program will equip individuals (project coordinators, site safety officers, superintendents, etc.) with the skills and tools necessary to coordinate a green construction site. Participants will gain practical and highly sought after green building skills.
Training Model:
6 lesson modules will be presented over 2 days. Course modules are:
- Green Building Site Management & Operations
- Erosion & Sedimentation Control
- Green Building Material Choices
- Construction Indoor Air Quality Management
- Construction Waste Management
- Effective Delivery & Crew Talks
Each student will receive a Green Construction Reference Manual and a free copy of the Little Green Site Book - an onsite reference pocketbook.
Prerequisites:
Program recruits may be drawn from existing design and engineering firms, contracting companies, from all the major higher education facilities, from various technology-oriented sectors (web, telecom, IT, etc.).
A diploma from a trade or technical college, any post-secondary education or knowledge and experience in the construction industry are important. No experience or knowledge in the green building field is required or expected.
Graduates can pursue careers within architectural and mechanical design firms, construction companies and environmental consulting firms.
Green Construction Training Program On-Site Training
