Teaching Assistant::: Permaculture Design; Sustainable Food Production and Ecological Landscaping

Teaching Assistant position available for a 10 week training program in Sustainable Food Production and Ecological Landscaping. This course is geared towards individuals who might wish to choose a personal or professional track in design, production, installation and/or management of organic projects.
The Teaching Assistant role will be suitable for an individual (maybe with a family) who comes with a foundation knowledge of organics and food production, is in excellent health, has good organizational skills, and is able to work well both within a community and in a team setting. With the support of program coordinators and teachers, this person will be responsible for the ongoing day to day planting out, watering schedule, maintenance, etc.. of the food gardens, and will work with the staff/participant group 2-3 days/week on the garden projects.
This position would provide an excellent learning community experience for someone who wishes to ramp up their sustainable food production knowledge/experience, develop further skills in group facilitation and/or team teaching, and works well in a community oriented project focus as set in an 'ecovillage' environment.
The offer is for dates: May 15th- September 15th, 2007 and compensation includes inclusion in all special programming through OUR ECOVILLAGE (all summer curriculum, special workshops, guest instructors in all programs, and Permaculture Design Certification (value of $1400CAN) if desired), all site costs/food costs/full time cook, and some field trips.
