QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed a Bachelor Degree in a specific Natural Science such as Zoology, Biology or Agriculture
  • Eligibility for membership with the Association of Professional Biologists of British Columbia or equivalent
  • A minimum of eight years experience in either environmental impact assessment, fisheries research or habitat protection and mitigation work.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The successful applicant must have experience working with Federal and Provincial agencies, First Nations and local stakeholders on a variety of environmental issues and restoration activities
  • Key work tasks include all duties related to the coordination and managment of the FIsh and Wildlife Compensation Program's strategic planning updating
  • Process includes contractor and contract management, public meeting coordination, handling communications with agencies, First Nations, local stakeholders, and BC Hydro staff; general documentation of this process is expected
  • The successful applicant will be assigned limited technical and field related duties, to become progressivley complex as experience and required training allow
  • Intermittent travel is expected within BC.
