DUTIES: The successful candidate:

Reports to the manager, Power Smart community marketing, and will lead the Power Smart community network team with overall responsibility for the planning, organizing, controlling, and managing the training and development, and implementation of the department operations Manages and leads a variety of projects including the development and delivery of community based marketing and promotional programs and campaign plans

Manages key internal and external relations to build strong relationships and partnerships with associated internal departments and external organizations such as community groups, environmental non-government organizations, event organizers, retailers, and key stakeholders

Manages and leads department staff involved in coordinating and supporting Power Smart community based social marketing activities, attends to labour relations and administrative matters; maximizes the contribution of the team through effective delegation, coaching and performance measurement

Ensures that work and defined assignments are completed on plan and on budget, to required standards of accuracy, and in accordance with established policy and procedures
Ensures that department, project and program objectives and strategies are understood, tactics are being effectively performed, and planned results are being achieved

Develops and maintains the required infrastructure to support regionally based team in meeting their objectives
Interprets and applies all applicable BC Hydro, Power Smart, provincial, federal and other regulatory rules and regulations and maintains current with changes

Performs a variety of administrative duties involving budget preparation, financial forecasting and control, invoice approval, productivity control and preparation of related reports and documentation for assigned area of
responsibility

May participate in various group or project committees/teams.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have:

A bachelor´s degree in business, marketing or a related field
Demonstrated leadership ability; the ability to develop and action strategic and specific marketing objectives and tactics
Experience in recruitment, labour relations/collective bargaining agreements and general staffing, with a proven ability to lead in a team based environment
A minimum of five years marketing/sales/communication experience where the above skills were applied
Ability to travel, as some travel will be required
A valid BC drivers licence.
