GreenWorks, Vancouver’s first all green building product store, just opened their showroom a few months ago on West 8th near Cambie. I’ve heard they carry FSC certified wood, and may be able to suggest other flooring options: www.greenworksbuildingsupply.com/
Bamboo: The bamboo flooring we have in our product library is Silkroad: www.silkroadflooring.com/ Again, it is rapidly renewable, but tends to be slightly more expensive than other wood flooring.
Recycled wood: A local supplier of recycled wood flooring is Simply Wood in Port Coquitlam: 604-464-7525
FSC certified wood: Available locally from MoCo Sustainable Connections: www.mocosustain.com/ For more information on the FSC certification process, visit: www.fsc.org/en/
Cork: From Burritt Bros. Carpets on Main Street: 604-879-8432.
All of these products are on display at our centre, so do feel free to stop by here and check them out. We’re open Mon-Sat 12-5 at 1575 Johnston St (just upstairs from Rogers Chocolates, beside the Arts Club theatre). We have other flooring options you may be interested in as well, such as rubber flooring, marmoleum, and tile.
