Position: LEED Program Coordinator

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Leadership in Energy and

Environmental Design (LEED) Delivery Manager, the LEED

Program Coordinator will coordinate LEED Canada rating

system registration, certification, and interpretation.

These duties include ensuring timeliness, quality and

consistency of existing LEED Canada products (e.g. LEED for

New Construction, LEED for Commercial Interiors) and

processes; supporting LEED Canada project applicants;

answering technical questions by prospective and registered

LEED Canada applicants; providing assistance to the LEED

Management Committee and its associated Technical Advisory

Groups (TAGs); overseeing work done by contractors and

consultants; and providing other administrative and

technical support and research as required. He/she will also

support the LEED Delivery Manager in ensuring a seamless

transition from the existing LEED programs to the LEED

Canada initiative, which is the CaGBC's effort to develop

the next generation of the rating system.

Key Responsibilities

LEED Canada registration, certification and interpretation:

* Welcoming and providing updates to LEED Canada registered

applicants;

* Answering prospective and registered applicant inquiries

on registration issues and rating system application;

* Managing and coordinating certification review workflow by

LEED projects assessment teams;

* Providing quality assurance of LEED Canada certification

submittals and of certification reviews;

* Assisting applicants with certification review findings

and appeals.

* Working with applicants to clarify their LEED Credit

Interpretation Requests (CIRs) and coordinating credit

interpretation rulings;

* Providing data entry, analysis & preparing reports using

database;

* Providing support to the LEED Management Committee and its

associated TAGs, and other committees as required;

* Preparing requests for proposals (RFPs); and overseeing

and directing work of contractors and consultants, as

required.

LEED transition

* Supporting the LEED Delivery Manager in the implementation

of a transition strategy to ensure a seamless transition

from the existing LEED programs, program and processes to

the LEED Canada Initiative, including the certification

process.

Stakeholder Liaison

* Liaising with and fulfilling information requests from

volunteers, members, stakeholders, the US Green Buildings

Council and others on related activities.

Team Collaboration, Planning and Coordination

* Working closely with the LEED Technical and Program

Managers' teams to ensure timely completion and alignment of

LEED program deliverables;

* Ensure work schedules/plans are coordinated;

* Organize team meetings as needed;

* In consultation with managers, design, implement and

maintain administrative processes and systems for LEED

program activities;

* Managing web-based collaborative workspace and supporting

development of web based tools (with support of Admin

Coordinator);

* Coordinating web and teleconference meetings.

Research and Reporting

* Compile, analyze and synthesize and prepare research

reports and briefing documents;

* Coordinating research among the LEED Coordinators team.

Other

* Recommend changes for continuous improvement in systems

and processes;

* Tasks as requested by the LEED Delivery Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

* Advanced knowledge of LEED rating system application and

environmental certification, preferably in Canada;

* Technical knowledge of green operations and maintenance

practices related to commercial, institutional and

industrial buildings;

* Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing work environment

and ability to exercise judgment in decision making when

faced with uncertainties;

* Ability to manage contracts with consultants and

contractors;

* Able to work independently and manage a demanding

multi-task workload;

* Aptitude for detail and effective at timely completion of

deliverables.

Education/Qualifications

* University degree in a related area;

* 5 years minimum professional experience in building

operations, maintenance, design, construction or building

science research;

* Experience with development, implementation or management

of environmental certification systems;

* Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat;

experience with project management, database and web editing

tools;

* Bilingual (English and French) preferred, but not

essential.

Salary Range

$48,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on qualifications and

experience, plus benefits
