Energy Modeller - Recollective

Recollective is a values-based multidisciplinary green building and sustainable community consulting company in Vancouver. We are seeking a highly organized, self-directed and talented full-time Energy Modeller to join our team.

The successful candidate must possess integrity and enthusiasm, as well as strong management skills. The position will involve working in a dynamic, innovative environment and require a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

We offer a competitive benefits package. Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with experience, but is in the range of $70,000 to $90,000.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in a wide range of performance simulation tools that analyze the energy performance of new and existing commercial and residential green buildings

• Data collection, energy model simulations using contract documents prepared by the project architect and engineer

• Draft reports that communicate modeling results to clients and design team members

• Participate with clients and design teams under Integrated Design Process (IDP), in the capacity of challenging and identifying appropriate green design strategies geared to improving energy performance

• Provide ongoing analysis through design and construction

• Take responsibility for project deliverables and outcomes

• Complete LEED documentation associated with energy modeling.

Qualifications

• Commitment to environmental responsibility and social equity

• Self-directed, pro-active, motivated

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience

• Experience with the following software: IES or TAS; and EE4 or DOE-2 or EnergyPlus; AutoCAD or Vectorworks

• Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Physics, Architecture, or related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and outstanding ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task.

Preferred Skills / Experience

• Design experience in Architecture, Building Envelope, or Mechanical

• Experience with analysis in life-cycle costing, thermal comfort, CFD (for natural ventilation), daylighting

• LEED AP, or willingness to become LEED AP.
