Energy and Sustainability Manager - BCIT

ENERGY AND SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER

SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The Energy and Sustainability Manager plays a key role in developing strategies to support sustainable development and environmental stewardship at all BCIT campuses. Recently, BCIT was recognized as Canada’s greenest campus because of our "living laboratory" of sustainability that BCIT practices on an institutional scale.

We are looking for a leader to work collaboratively in close partnership with the school and other BCIT departments. The Energy and Sustainability Manager prepares reports and policy proposals concerning the realization of the Environmental Stewardship and Sustainable Practices memorandum of agreement. In addition, the Manager will have the exciting opportunity to implement a work program addressing energy, materials consumption, water, waste and green space, as outlined in the goals and objectives of the Greening Campuses Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will have a passion for sustainability that will allow them to engage staff and students in these initiatives.

The Manager will also have the opportunity to oversee development of curriculum that advances the state of practice in sustainability and prepares the next generation of practitioners to contribute to a sustainable future.

This position is subject to renewal of BC Hydro energy management support funding and is determined from year to year.
