Eco-friendly office renovation

Can you suggest eco-friendly products for our office renovation?
Carpet
- The Light House centre uses carpet tiles with 35% recycled content that are PVC-free. Individual tiles can be replaced if damaged, without having to replace the entire flooring. Find them at Milliken Carpet, www.millikencarpet.com.
- Another option is wool carpeting, which is completely natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable. Find it at Nature’s Carpet, www.naturescarpet.com.
- Light House stocks samples of eco-friendly flooring. The samples are here for you to inspect, touch and sniff.
Paint
- The Light House centre uses ultra-low VOC latex wall paint from Cloverdale Paint (however almost all paint companies now offer a low VOC line, eg. Benjamin Moore, Home Depot, etc).
Cleaners
- Aspen Clean (www.aspenclean.com)
- The Natural Cleaners (www.naturalcleanersthe.supersites.ca)
Paper products
- Unfortunately, I don’t know of a supplier – at our office we buy all recycled paper products from either Capers or Whole Foods.
Furniture
- At our office we use Herman Miller workstations with recycled content that can be disassembled for recycling (www.hermanmiller.com)
- Our chairs are from Teknion and made from recycled polyester and certified for indoor air quality (www.teknion.com)
- For used items, try the ReStore in Burnaby (http://www.habitat.ca/restoresc3.php) or Jack’s New and Used in Burnaby (604-299-2967)
