May
25-29, 2008

Are you concerned about the future of Canada’s oceans
and coasts? Do you believe that we need to raise the awareness and
understanding of the importance of the world’s oceans and coasts in global
sustainability? Do you want to do something about it?

Coastal Zone Canada 2008 Conference will take place May 25-29, 2008 in Vancouver on the
beautiful University
of British Columbia
campus.  We need bright, motivated and
eager volunteers to help this conference run smoothly.  Specifically, we need people to assist with:

  • stuffing
    conference tote bags
  • conference
    registration check-in
  • setting
    up poster sessions
  • monitoring
seminar rooms: assisting presenters and providing AV support
  • directing
attendees to and from events on campus

Additionally, we need a group of organized and responsible
rapporteurs.  Rapporteurs are responsible
for:

  • attending
    assigned workshops and sessions
  • taking
attendance and detailed notes of the session proceedings
  • producing
a 2-page summary of the workshop discussion
  • submitting
notes and summary to a designated CZC representative (due date TBD)

As a volunteer, you agree to:

  • attend
    volunteer orientation (date TBD)
  • attend
    all assigned volunteer shifts
  • be
    available from May
    25-29, 2008

In exchange for 15 hours of volunteer time, your
registration fees to the conference will be waived.  This includes all conference sessions, health
breaks and included lunches, as well as a reception at the Vancouver Aquarium
on the evening of May 26.

To sign up or to obtain more information, please email
Eagranie Yuh, CZC2008 Volunteer Coordinator, at czcvolunteer@gmail.com.  Please indicate if you have any particular
skills or interests that might come in handy.

Yet another environmental conference??

I'm with the small-c "conservatives" on this one.

Do we really need yet another forum?

There are people (perhaps just a one in a million) who are ACTUALLY CHANGING their vehicles - for example, modifying their vehicles with a Hydrogen Booster to get double the mileage. IMO, if you're not actually changing your "hardware", you're not really changing 'everything' that you can.

For example:

Can you explain why most people are interested in going to yet another conference but, as yet, don't actually modify their vehicles, to double or triple their mileage (MPG), like the TV station in Florida?

So, please tell me, after you see these video clips, why you're not modifying your car or truck with a Hydrogen Booster or HHO generator?
