Certificate in Environmental Practice
According to labour market research conducted by ECO Canada, demand for environmental employees is generally outpacing the growth rate of employment. As a result, competition will be increasingly fierce in recruiting practitioners with demonstrated environmental knowledge and skills.
Workers from declining industries, such as Forestry and Logging, could supply the demand for environmental employees. The Certificate in Environmental Practice, offered by the Canadian Centre for Environmental Education, can help workers with non-environmental backgrounds get the training they need to work in environmental positions.
How does one obtain the Certificate?
- Via Distance - the program is delivered entirely by distance so courses can be scheduled around work
- Through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
- Mid-career employees may be eligible receive credit for relevant environmental work experience and professional development courses
- Recent graduates may be eligible to receive transfer credit for university/college courses
The Canadian Centre for Environmental Education is a partnership between ECO Canada and Royal Roads, with the participation of colleges and universities across Canada. To learn more about the CCEE, please visit www.ccee.ca.
