Canada Green Building Council Job Posting -- Manager, LEED Program
The Canada Green Building Council is looking for a Manager for its LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) program. LEED is the leading environmental building certification system in North America. The Canada Green Building Council is a coalition of industry representatives committed to transforming the market towards green buildings and sustainable communities following sustainability principles and practices.
Under the direction of the President, Canada Green Building Council, the Program Manager will provide leadership in managing the existing LEED program and implementing the next generation of LEED in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
The Program Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the business and market delivery processes for existing and new LEED programs.
The Program Manager will:

participate in the development & implementation of the next generation of the LEED system in Canada;

be responsible for the implementation of new LEED products and supporting tools into the marketplace including LEED Homes, Existing Buildings and Neighbourhood Developments;
-
lead a national review of the project certification process to develop & implement a new approach that facilitates large scale, industry-delivered applications of LEED;
-
manage existing LEED products and processes and oversee updates to systems, templates, tools and supporting materials;
-
develop a LEED Canada Foundations document to guide the application and use of .LEED in Canada,
-
liaise with the US Green Building Council on the development & implementation of LEED in Canada;
-
participate and provide critical staff input into in the Products Steering Committee and other product core committees relating to implementing and operations of LEED rating systems in Canada;
-
work closely with the Manager, Technical Program (responsible for the technical development and application of LEED), expert stakeholders and CaGBC members.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
-
excellent project management skills with a focus and an ability to organize and deliver with a multi-task workload, dealing with diverse stakeholders and interests;
-
considerable knowledge of the principles, standards and application of environmental management and certification systems with direct experience in use, development or implementation of management/certification systems;
-
a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management, or building design, project management, business administration/management; or a related discipline;
-
a Masters’ degree from an accredited university in the field of, business administration/ management, planning, architecture, engineering, project management, environment & resource studies, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent direct experience;
-
be able to work in a team-oriented environment where staff, stakeholders and members are geographically dispersed;
-
excellent supervisory skills;
-
excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal a skills;
-
strong computer skills including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook;
-
fluency in both official languages is preferred.
Salary
Salary range for this position is $73,000 -- $81,600 plus a 10% bonus (based on annual performance in key areas) and benefits package. The salary will be commensurate with demonstrated experience and educational background.
