The presentation is
aimed at the general public, contractors, developers and anyone who may have an
interest in saving money, decreasing our dependence on electricity and natural
gas and reducing our production of greenhouse gas emissions. It will cover the
following areas:

water solar heating
-Use in other
countries
-Reasons that it
has not been used effectively in North
America
-Examples of use
in British
Columbia
-Benefits of

CO2 reduction,
reduction of dependence on Centralized power and energy
sources)
-Examples of use
in a residential setting including costs and practical
considerations
-New
construction – putting in the infrastructure so that a later addition of

Bio - Wendy graduated from
Lakehead University in Thunder
Bay, Ontario in 1999 with an
Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She has 6 years experience in the
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Consulting Industry including
solar hot water heating product research and project development. While in the
consulting industry she was also a solar hot water heating consultant for a
Lower Mainland company. In 2005, she and her husband formed a solar hot water
heating company, Canadian Solar
Technologies Inc. Her company specializes
in the design of solar hot water heating systems utilizing evacuated tube solar
collector technology. The technology she found is unique to Canada’s solar industry. It
utilizes solar heat transfer technology jointly designed by the German based
Daimler-Benz Aerospace Group and Beijing Sunda Solar Energy Technology Co.
Ltd.
