VIMFF Earth Alive series: Sustainability - Our Common Future
The One Earth Initiative and the David Suzuki Foundation have partnered with the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF -- www.vimff.org) and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre to launch the Earth Alive Series of sustainability films. The Earth Alive Series takes place on the evenings of Feb. 24 to 28 at the Planetarium (H.R. MacMillan Space Centre).
Sunday, Feb. 24 is the opening night of Earth Alive, themed Sustainability - Our Common Future." It features presentations by Dr. William Rees, founder of the Ecological Footprint, and Emmanuel Prinet, from One Earth Initiative, and screening of the following films: "Kilowatt Ours" (thought-provoking personal documentary of a search for solutions that save customers money, strengthen the economy and improve the quality of our lives and environment), and "Pollen Nation" (science documentary disguised as an American road movie, following one migratory beekeeper and taking a look at the dire consequences of industrialized pollination).
