The Kauri Eco-Culture Society Fundraiser May 23rd, St James Community Centre (Kisilano)

The Kauri Eco-Culture Society is a non-profit organization concerned with creating sustainable living within all cultures. With issues like climate change, Peak Oil and globalization, Our emphasis is to Educate young and old through demonstration projects worldwide to create a sustainable future for are children.
Fundraising Event:
We will be holding are first fundraiser May 23th 7:00pm at the St. James Community Centre. 3214 West 10th Avenue (Corner of 10th & Trutch) There will be a band, Art up for auction, a raffle for different types of gifts provided by are sponsors, a door prize, bar and food will also be available. Really just a big party! We would love to see you all there.
All donations will be going towards are next projects.
PROJECTS:
Our up coming project will be in Hassi Lbied, Merzouga and Taouz, Morocco September 2008, to help rebuild the three villages that were destroyed after a flash flood that demolished 100 homes, hotels and killed nine people. We will be working with Elke Cole (elkecole.com) who will be leading the project to try and bring these villages back to life using Cob, a sustainable building method. Tanzania, November 2009 we will build 15 ECO DOMES and a School for the Madeke Upendo Orphans Village. Also teaching the locals how to build this home design as well as composting toilets, rain water-harvesting systems, solar cookers and apply Permaculture to their land. To give these children and the Tanzanian people a sustainable future.
