Richard Kadulski: Guest Expert

On Saturdays through the fall, the Sustainable Building Centre is hosting its "Guest Expert" Series on Granville Island, in Vancouver. Each Saturday, between 2 and 4pm, a different green building professional will be available to answer sustainable building questions you might have. On Saturday, September 9th, Richard Kadulski, Architect, will speak and answer questions about what steps can homeowners, designers and the building community can take to create the kind of homes that are healthier, better for the environment and provide a solid financial return.

Richard Kadulski

Richard Kadulski is a Vancouver architect with a special expertise in sustainable, low energy and healthy building design. Since 1985 he has edited SOLPLAN REVIEW, Canada's journal of energy conservation, building science and building practice for the light construction sector. He was the project manager for the BC Advanced House, one of 10 advanced houses built across Canada to showcase the latest in building technology, energy efficiency, healthy house and environmental concerns. Richard has been active with the R-2000 Home Program since its inception. He is a member ofCanada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's International Training Team, and has been active on many industry technical bodies. He is a Past president of the Solar Energy Society of Canada.

He is the author of a number of books, including Heating Systems for Your New Home, House Construction in BC (an illustrated reference guide to the BC Building Code), and Residential Ventilation: Achieving Indoor Air Quality.

He is active with industry organizations, including the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and the Architectural Institute of BC. His contributions to the housing industry have been recognized by a number of local, provincial and national awards.
