Thursday, April 3 Workshop (8am-1pm)
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions through Purchasing
UBC Robson Square
800 Robson St.

Purchasing can play an important role in reducing an organization's overall greenhouse gas burden. As organizations address the complexities of targeting indirect supply chain emissions, purchaser-supplier relationships becomes critical. Choosing new suppliers or working with existing suppliers to reduce carbon intensity will become an increasingly important strategy to alleviate the risks posed by climate change for organizations of all types.

Join the Sustainability Purchasing Network and your purchasing peers April 3rd in leading the change to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Larry Berglund, UBC Director of Supply Management, James Tansey, co-founder and CEO  of Offsetters, and others join us to explore:

- GHG emissions inventories
- GHG reduction strategies for purchasers
- Case studies, tools and resources in various important supply categories (buildings, fleets, paper, courier, travel)
- Carbon offsets

Learn how international and local leaders are achieving greenhouse gas reductions by changing their purchasing practices. No matter what your stage of interest or expertise, this workshop will provide you with useful information to help your organization reduce its carbon footprint and mitigate climate change impacts.
