Ralph Belisle, Green Home Renovation: Sustainable Building Centre Guest Expert
On Saturdays through the fall, the Sustainable Building Centre is hosting its "Guest Expert" Series on Granville Island, in Vancouver. Each Saturday, between 2 and 4pm, a different green building professional will be available to answer sustainable building questions you might have. On Saturday, October 7th, Ralph Belisle, will speak and answer questions about how to green your home renovation.
Ralph Belisle, President, TQ Construction
Ralph is not only the President of TQ Construction but is also the incoming president of the Canadian Home Builders Association of BC. Born and raised in Vancouver, Ralph Belisle has a straightforward philosophy about home building. "I'd fix almost anything before I'd throw it away. Not only is that a more ethical way of living, but for me it's a lot more fun and interesting as well."
Since 1985, following that philosophy has allowed Ralph to show homeowners that renovating the home they currently live in is an attractive, viable alternative to the disruption of moving. "People's needs change, but often they really don't want to move. We can show them how to take what they really love about their home, and work with them to meet their needs. For example, a client may think they need another 1,000 square feet when all they really need is 500 and to better utilize an existing area of 200 square feet."
Ralph will be a Guest Expert at the Light House: Sustainable Building Centre on October 7th, 2 - 4. This is open and free to the public. He will be talking about green home renovations, including the Hanvey Goodland eco-home renovation and about the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC's formal launch of the Built Green™ BC program.
