Matt Horne, Acting Director for the BC Energy Solutions Program, Pembina Institute
Matt will speak about where and how homes and buildings fit
into BC's effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Specific topics addressed

Bio - Matt Horne is the acting Director for the BC
Energy Solutions program with the Pembina Institute, a not-for-profit
organization that advances sustainable energy solutions across Canada. Mr. Horne is based
in Vancouver, where he works on climate and energy strategies from provincial,
municipal, and First Nations perspectives. He is the co-author of a recent
report titled “Mind the Gap: A Blueprint for Climate Action in BC”. The report
examines strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all sectors of BC’s
economy, and shows that although achieving BC’s targets will be challenging, it
is possible. Prior to joining the Pembina Institute, Matt worked extensively
with energy-economy models on projects attempting to estimate the costs and
benefits of climate change policy in Canada. Matt holds a Master
of Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University.

Light House: Sustainable Building Centre is located at 1575 Johnston Street, just East of the Public Market in the heart of Granville Island. Our centre is on the second floor and accessible via the glass door and staircase on the Southwest corner of the building.
