"Going Carbon Neutral - What does this really mean?"

Lindsay Cole

Lindsay Cole, BC
Director of the Sustainability Solutions Group

This session will talk about the current media buzz around
climate change, carbon neutrality, and offsetting and will dig deeply into what
carbon neutrality /really /means in peoples' work and lives. We will talk about
different kinds of actions that people and organizations can take to meaningfully
reduce their GHGs where it really counts, including generation of renewable
energy, energy efficiency, lifestyle choices, offsetting, and others. We will
draw on recent research and work into what kinds of GHG cuts might be required
to avoid dangerous climate change, local policy options for GHG friendly
planning and construction, and other actions that people can take. We will draw
on the resources, ideas and experiences of participants to make this a dynamic,
interesting conversation that will leave participants inspired and motivated to
take (further) action on reducing GHGs in their lives.
