"Incentives for Energy Efficient Upgrades"

Laura Krohn, LiveSmart BC Outreach Specialist, Light House and City of Vancouver Sustainability Group 

Participants will learn about the Province's new LiveSmart BC rebate program for energy efficiency as well as other incentives that are being offered by home retailers such as window manufacturers. Homeowners are eligible for up to $12,345 in government grants to make energy upgrades to their homes. Laura will discuss the details of the program, how homeowners can access the grants, the types of renovations or upgrades that make a home more energy efficient and the benefits of an energy efficient home. She will also be doing a Q&A session about LiveSmart BC, so come with your questions to ask or just listen and learn.

Bio - Laura works with the City of Vancouver and Light House providing education and outreach services. Previously, she worked with Light House developing and delivering the Green Building 101 course. She holds a Masters degree in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University and is a member of the Parks and Environment Advisory Committee for the City of North Vancouver. She lives in North Vancouver.

LOCATION
Light House: Sustainable Building Centre is located at 1575 Johnston Street, just East of the Public Market in the heart of Granville Island. Our centre is on the second floor and accessible via the glass door and staircase on the Southwest corner of the building. This event is sponsored by Light House Sustainable Building Centre and Cascadia Green Building Council, the local chapter of the CaGBC. Funding comes from Environment Canada and the Real Estate Foundation of BC.
