Green Building 101 Workshop
In response to overwhelming interest, we have developed a two-hour, non-technical “Green Building 101” for homeowners, strata-dwellers and anyone else interested in learning how to “green” their home! Follow the links below to register.
Overview: Participants will gain a general understanding of green design ideas, issues and processes, develop a set of personal green goals for their home, and leave with a practical resource workbook. Confused about where to start, who to talk to and what questions to ask? Then this course is for you!
"Green" Design can be defined as "construction practices that significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment and occupants in five broad areas:
- Site planning
- Water and water efficiency
- Energy efficiency and renewable energy
- Conservation of materials and resources
- Indoor environmental air quality
...using a systems approach and an integrated design process."
The workshop will discuss all of the concepts above and also introduce a process to follow for greening your own projects:
Your Timeline & Budget
+ Personal & Green goals
+ Systems thinking
+ Integrated design process
+ Qualified service providers
= Your green design
