Emily Jubenvill - Guest Expert on Sustainable Lifestyles
"Green Urban Living"
Emily Jubenvill, Community Gardens Coordinator, Vancouver Public Space Network
Emily Jubenvill is more than just an environmentally minded Vancouverite. She is the greenest person in Canada, according to the results of an online contest launched last April by Simon Fraser University business professor Boyd Cohen. Emily will be sharing the ways she lives green in Vancouver - how far you can go when you live in an urban setting, a rented apartment, and run on a tight budget! Apartment gardening, worm composting, and cycling are just a few of the things she'll be talking about.
Bio - Emily Jubenvill grew up on the North Shore of Vancouver, and Bowen Island. With a degree in environmental science from Royal Roads University, she focuses most of her energy on urban agriculture and all things 'sustainable'. She is the Community Gardens Coordinator for the Vancouver Public Space Network, and is working on several community garden projects across the city. Emily is also a co-founder of Small Feet Inc., which is a carbon and sustainability consulting firm. When she's not working or volunteering, you can find Emily tending to her vegetable patch, laughing, on a mountain, or by the sea.
