Eco-Sense 2008 Tour Schedule

Ann and Gord Baird’s load bearing earthen home is the first code approved seismically engineered high occupancy residence in North America. 

With a wish to demonstrate sustainability in simple ways, they have built a home that works with nature and uses less.  Less water, less waste, less energy.  The home then uses sustainable systems to provide for itself, through solar PV with a grid intertie to BC Hydro, solar thermal collection for space heating and domestic hot water, grey water, rain water harvesting off a living roof, composting toilets and more.

Due to demand, Eco-Sense will be open for tours throughout the spring and summer; alternating Sundays from 10am till noon.

Cost $12.   Please book your spot via phone or email.  Topics include sustainable energy, earthen building, code and policy, and philosophy of sustainability.
