Don Cabatoff - Guest Expert on Sustainable Lighting
"Energy Efficient Lighting Alternatives"
Don Cabatoff, Specialty Bulb Products Inc.
As energy saving alternatives to incandescent light bulbs, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) have become widely accepted. In addition to CFLs, other types of lighting are available that can greatly reduce the impact on our environment: LED [light emitting diode], low energy luminaires and bulbs, Cold Cathode dimmable, energy saving light bulbs and EIFL (electrodeless induction fluorescent lighting). Each product will be discussed as to its particular merits with no one technology championed. Products will be on hand for demonstration purposes, giving attendees the opportunity to see and experience firsthand what the products look like and the light they produce.
Bio - With a background in electrical and electronics technology in the medical and scientific field, Don researches appropriate technologies and products for those who are intent on reducing the impact on our environment, regardless of the market or application. He is responsible for Business Development at Specialty Bulb Products Inc., a specialized lighting company in business since 1985, based in Langley, British Columbia.
