Culture and Community
Metro Vancouver's next Sustainability Community Breakfast will take place Wednesday, December 10, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) downtown Vancouver campus at 555 Seymour Street, Vancouver.
Culture is a key element in the building of sustainable, resilient and creative communities. This breakfast will explore the links between culture, community and sustainability. We will look at how culture and art have the potential to transform communities and individuals in positive and meaningful ways, and will highlight specific projects that have helped make this happen.
Featured speakers include:
- Sheila McKinnon, Manager of Arts, Surrey Parks, Recreation & Culture and Chair, Regional Cultural Development Advisory Committee
- Amir Ali Alibhai, Cultural Development Officer, North Vancouver Office of Cultural Affairs
- Sheila Hall, Artist and Instructor at Emily Carr University
