This workshop will provide the cognitive skills that are required to install solar domestic hot water systems. Completion of this course is one of the requirements to complete the CanSIA Canadian Solar Domestic Hot Water System Installer Certification program.
The SolarBC (www.solarbc.ca) incentive requires that registered contractors for the SolarBC Residential Project must have at least one fully CanSIA certified employee. A certified installer must be present at all installations and must sign the SolarBC Installation Agreement with the customer on completion of the work.
This workshop provides a review of installation procedures, practises and requirements. Included in the workshop cost are two CanSIA manuals; STT 100 – Fundamentals, and STT 200 – Installation, Maintenance and Design.
The Canadian Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) Installer Certification Exam is another one of the requirements to become a Certified Canadian SDHW System Installer. The exam (optional) that follows the workshop is an open book exam. However, if you intend to take the exam be sure to register for the exam.
The Roof and Fall Safety course is another requirement to become a Certified Canadian SDHW System Installer.
All those who register and make payment for this workshop before Nov 7, 2008 will have the STT 100 and STT 200 manuals mailed to them so participants can be better prepared to write the exam afterwards. All manuals are included in the workshop cost.
Please note, you do NOT have to be an experienced installer or a licensed plumber to participate in this workshop. However, in order to become a CanSIA Certified SDHW Installer you will require installation experience. For inexperienced installers wishing to take this course you are permitted to fulfill the experience requirements at a later time.
