to fresh fruits and vegetables for all.

Food system tours $35 each. Register at info@gardenheart.com.

Green Roof Safari will more effectively cater to group interests in the next fiscal year.  The essential nature of the study tour will remain intact, providing access to countless and diverse projects, meetings with local experts, and extensive information and technology transfer facilitated by knowledgeable, multi-lingual guides.  Given the expertise and professional network which define the study tour, group interests can be tailored with flexibility.

Reutte in Tyrol, Austria – August 1, 2009

The unique educational-consulting service Green Roof Safari is pleased to announce a new strategy for its experiential study tours. Provided with united interest, Green Roof Safari will prepare itineraries matching the interests and needs of small groups.

Geographically, the study tour will focus on the Upper Rhine region (Frankfurt to Basel).  According to Christine Thüring, Co-founder and Manager of Green Roof Safari, “this area includes many green municipalities, the core of the German green roof industry, and some of Europe’s most important research institutes.” Moreover, this region contains a tremendous diversity of projects, including solar architecture, vast extensive roofs, living roofs, award-winning roof gardens, and much more.

Green Roof Safari has the creative capacity to answer questions and interests thanks to its strengths of multi-lingual translation, inherent expertise, project access, and a supportive network. As substantiated by the 2008 study tour, participants come away with experiential knowledge, broadened horizons, detailed documentation and valuable contacts.

In addition to the intense professional focus, the study tour endeavours to include cultural jaunts and aperitifs with fantastic views. And with so many projects to choose from, Co-Founder Jörg Breuning points out that “accompanying spouses will have the chance for independent sightseeing in several cities.”

Due to the current economic situation, Green Roof Safari will cancel its September 2009 tour. Given enough interest, a Spring 2010 tour will be considered.

Solar hot water is a very easy way for people to save money and reduce their carbon footprint.

You may have seen a solar hot water panel on someone's home - but
have you seen what's happening in Europe, where solar water heating is
mainstream? There are even plans afoot that by 2030, 50% of Europe's
space heating needs will be met by stored solar thermal energy.

In this webinar, SolarBC’s Nitya Harris and BCSEA’s Guy Dauncey
will review what's happening, explain how solar thermal systems work,
and tell you how you can benefit from SolarBC program of grants and
incentives to install a solar thermal system on your own roof.

Join them from the comfort of your office or home for this one-hour
Webinar to learn more about Solar Hot Water and the financial
incentives that are available.

The BC Sustainable Energy Association offers this series of
monthly, lunchtime Climate and Energy Solutions Webinars to help us
learn about important developments in the fields of sustainable energy
and climate change. Log-in through your computer's web browser to see
and hear the presentations.

We are a family operated Canadian company which has developed a cutting edge new green building material we call Hempcrete, composed primarily of hemp chips, lime, and sand. This mixture is poured into forms to create beautiful, strong walls and floors with an impressive list of additional benefits. (Please see www.hempcrete.com) Furthermore, these hemp chips are currently agricultural waste which we are proving can readily be monetized and create new jobs and opportunities in green building. We are completing our second house using Hempcrete, which will be a showcase for the product and enable us to bring it to a larger audience.

We are promoting Hempcrete internationally, and can offer sponsorship and speaking opportunities to your firm. Together with an Irish hemp builder/contractor Steve Allin, we are sponsoring an event in Ireland this September, and are seeking support by way of sponsors, presenters and attendees. The response has been amazing from sponsors, and we have a number of big names already on board. At the first two levels of sponsorship, there will be only one sponsor accepted at that level for each area of industry. We are bringing together some of the best and brightest minds in Europe and the quality of information and contacts will be second to none. This event can do great things for the natural building industry, and therefore, for the environment.
Finally, although we are close to completing the project, our family resources have been severely strained by this 7 year project, and we have been unable to identify any grants which apply to our work. If you or your company could benefit from being associated with a project like this, and whose products and Vision may be compatible with our own, we would appreciate donations of materials,(ie windows, flooring etc) in exchange for us featuring your company in our corporate literature and media coverage. Please respond with contact details and we would be pleased to tell you more, and answer any questions you have.

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
