Eco-Sense 2008 Tour Schedule

Ann and Gord Baird’s load bearing earthen home is the first code approved seismically engineered high occupancy residence in North America. 

LEED-NC recognizes buildings that incorporate design, construction and
operational practices that combine healthy, high quality and
high-performance systems and materials with reduced environmental
impacts. Understanding LEED-NC is an important step towards reducing
environmental impacts and achieving superior economic performance in
buildings. This intensive, one-day workshop provides a technical
overview of the LEED Canada-NC 1.0.

hands-on workshop on converting cars into water-hybrid vehicles will

The City of North Vancouver is hosting a film screening and subsequent discussion about eco-renovations for the public on Thursday, July 17 at 7:00 pm.  The film is Garbage Warrior (Oliver Hodge, UK, 2007, 86 minutes) described as follows:

This full-day workshop is from 9-5 pm, and is designed for those wanting a more in-depth look at applying American Clay. We will cover all the basic application techniques from wall preparation through troweling techniques for all the American Clay Earth Plasters. This includes how to achieve the Venetian finishes associated with American Clay Porcelina, as well as other finishes, repairs and more. All materials and tools are provided.

Eclectrix™ Organic Home is pleased to offer a full day workshop in the application of American Clay on July 19.

The workshop will run from 10 am to 4 pm, with lunch included and will be facilitated by Shaylor, a professional plasterer and workshop facilitator from American Clay. The cost for the full day workshop is $115.00 per person and should interest professionals and homeowners alike who want to learn the fine art of working with Earth Plasters. Space will be limited to 15 participants and must be prepaid upon booking.
