The Business of Writing, Effective Communication and Professional Image Seminar

Phone calls, contracts, reports or any of the many forms that standardize written exchanges will never replace the need to write effectively. The Business of Writing is a course designed to help you translate your on the job expertise and communication experience into words that work. Refresh your knowledge for when you must write to introduce, confirm, negotiate or announce news of your workplace, in written and effective formats.

"Organic Gardening at Home"

Kendra Hope and Emma Baker, Society for Organic Urban Land Care (SOUL)

Kendra and Emma will discuss basic principles of organic gardening for home owners and offer plenty of good tips and advice to gardeners for healthy, happy plants. They will also speak about soil which is the foundation of a chemical-free garden, as well as lawns and how they can easily and successfully be maintained organically.

The City of North Vancouver is hosting a film screening and subsequent discussion about eco-renovations for the public on Thursday, July 17 at 7:00 pm.  The film is Garbage Warrior (Oliver Hodge, UK, 2007, 86 minutes) described as follows:

This full-day workshop is from 9-5 pm, and is designed for those wanting a more in-depth look at applying American Clay. We will cover all the basic application techniques from wall preparation through troweling techniques for all the American Clay Earth Plasters. This includes how to achieve the Venetian finishes associated with American Clay Porcelina, as well as other finishes, repairs and more. All materials and tools are provided.

Eclectrix™ Organic Home is pleased to offer a full day workshop in the application of American Clay on July 19.

The workshop will run from 10 am to 4 pm, with lunch included and will be facilitated by Shaylor, a professional plasterer and workshop facilitator from American Clay. The cost for the full day workshop is $115.00 per person and should interest professionals and homeowners alike who want to learn the fine art of working with Earth Plasters. Space will be limited to 15 participants and must be prepaid upon booking.
