The goal of the Car-Free Festival is to celebrate community, promote locally-based businesses and artists, and party with neighbours and friends; to imagine a community without cars, because the West End is about people, not cars. Students will learn about the basics of green roofs, definitions of the different types of green roof systems and materials, appropriate vegetation for intensive, semi-intensive and extensive green roofs from a downloadable CD prior to taking the course. Course content will provide students with the knowledge of a benefit analysis of green roofs through a case study method. The format will be 2 hours lecture and 2 hours workshop where students tour the Centre for the Advancement of Green Roof Technology, review products and mock up a green roof assembly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
