Green roofs or living roofs provide a natural solution to current urban environmental problems. Our two main research areas include using green roofs to increase thermal efficiency and manage storm water of a building.
Welcome to the most sustainable building project in Canada, the Eco-Sense home of Ann and Gord Baird. This tour will show the loadbearing cob wood working shop and the house that is in progress. The house is the first of its kind, engineered to be the first code approved high occupancy load bearing cob building in Canada. The tour will be hosted by Angela Evans of Saanich.

This is a panel discussion with Dr. Larry Frank (Bombardier Chair holder in Sustainable Urban Transportation Systems), architect JP Thornton and transportation engineer Lon LaClaire. Dr. Frank, with UBC's School of Community and Regional Planning, will deliver the keynote speech. He specializes in the interaction between land use, travel behaviour, air quality and health. Mr.
