Chris Mattock will present on three recent green building projects. These will include the Harmony House Equilibrium net zero energy infill home project to be built this spring in Burnaby, the Tsuchiya Twoby Home Net Zero Energy Home constructed in Sapporo Japan and a six story dormitory building constructed at the Shandong Architectural University in Jinan China. All three projects incorporate  a range of innovative energy conserving and renewable energy technologies that will be presented and discussed.

Bio - Chris Mattock has an architectural degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and 30 years experience in building design and consulting work in Canada, China, Japan, Mongolia, Korea, Mexico and the U.S.A. During that period he has been involved in the design and construction of numerous green / energy efficient / net zero / zero carbon residential and small commercial buildings as well as working on planning projects that incorporate sustainable community design principles. In addition to being the proprietor of his own consulting firm Habitat Design + Consulting Ltd. he is also a director of International Eco-House Inc. (IEH) and Fab-Form Industries. IEH since its founding in 1992 has been involved in building science and green building consulting and the export of Canadian mechanical ventilation systems and air tightness testing equipment to Japan and China. IEH provided building science, energy analysis and green building design services for the first net zero energy home to be constructed in Japan, completed two years ago in Sapporo. Fab-Form Industries is a manufacturer of innovative fabric based forming systems for concrete foundations and columns. Mr. Mattock has published several books on the topics of energy efficient and “healthy buildings” as well as co-authoring the national R-2000 training manuals. Chris has taught over 400 training seminars on green building design, building science topics, healthy buildings, energy efficient construction and sustainable community design as well as various courses at the U.B.C. School of Architecture, the University of Washington College Of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Architectural Institute of British Columbia.
