Blue Camas Consulting is a sustainable building consultancy devoted to researching, advocating and practicing innovative strategies for creating sustainable built environments. Blue Camas Consulting Ltd. is a member of the Canada Green Building Council, U.S. Green Building Council and an active participant in the Vancouver branch of the Cascadia Chapter of CaGBC/USGBC. Hempcrete Natural Building, creators of Hempcrete - a hemp based building material. We build or renovate using this material for walls, floors and plaster, creating a beautiful adobe or Mediterranean look. The 12” thick walls are a breath-able monolithic structure which has many beneficial features. The properties include: fire resistance, pest resistance, high in thermal insulation rating, sound insulation, thermal inertia, inherently airtight carbon neutral structure, increased earthquake resistance, no moisture problems (integral wall, no moisture barriers or additional insulation needed), strong, and sustainable (80% hemp chips which are currently agricultural waste).
