Project Summary

The City of Vancouver asked Light House to analyze the costs of a variety of measures that were designed to increase the energy efficiency and overall sustainability of new part 9 buildings (low-rise residential) in the City of Vancouver. Light House used a combination of energy modeling analysis, product/market research, and industry interviews and to create a list of recommended changes to the Vancouver Building Bylaw that would increase their sustainability without increasing the total building costs by more than 2%. These recommendations formed the basis of the City’s newly launched “Green Homes Program”.
