Goals for the project: To install more energy efficient heating, cooling and water systems. To create a less drafty more comfortable home.

Work to be done: Remove current heating/water systems to create more floor space in basement. Move bedrooms from upper level to basement. Possibly open upper floor by removing walls and increasing daylighting through replacement of old windows. Possibly add HRV and any other recommended green improvements that fit with renovations. Insulate attic.

Energy Audit:

The energy audit for the Norman House has been completed and has identified that renovations could reduce energy consumption in the home by up to 56%. The home has the potential to reduce its GHG emissions by 5.6 tonnes per year.

The home's current rating is 47, BC's average, and can be increased to 76. The highest rating of energy-efficiency in houses of this category is 80.
