Job Purpose and Link to Mission

In the summers of 2006 and 2008, thirty Palestinian, Israeli, and Canadian teen-agers gathered in and around Vancouver, British Columbia to participate in an extraordinary dialogue and filmmaking experience. Building on our inaugural program in 2004, the youths lived and learned together for three weeks, discovered their personal strengths and created fifteen short films about the conflict, viewable on www.peaceittogether.ca.

In partnership with Redstorm Productions, the Peace it Together Society created an educational package containing the short films from the 2006 program, as well as a 29-minute documentary that follows the students on their remarkable and inspiring journeys.  Also included on the double-disc set is an hour-and-a-half of additional footage, featuring workshops, discussions and additional interviews, and a teacher’s guide.

The Marketing and Distribution Coordinator will ensure that the youths’ films be screened in many classrooms around the world and viewed as widely as possible on the Internet. This role is key to achieving our mission. Screenings the films empowers the young filmmakers while inspiring and spreading their messages around the world.
